The Certificates app is a tool integrated into eLearning platforms via the LTI 1.3 standard. that automates the generation of certificates upon achieving a specified grade in a course.

Setup and Configuration - FIRST ACCESS​

The Certificates APP is deployed as an LTI1.3 tool within the course, allowing for customization in its course appearance, like changing the text, relocating, hiding, or adding release conditions.

Step 1: Activate the app within the course using the "Activate app" button. This is only required the first time that the application is accessed from a course.

Step 2: Configure the application:

To correctly configure the application the folowing steps are needed

  1. Select a certificate template (global or course-specific). Templates can be downloaded and uploaded.
  2. Add the course name.
  3. Specify the number of course hours.
  4. Include the course syllabus.
  5. Set the grade threshold for certificate issuance.
  6. Save the configuration.

Student workflow​

Upon meeting the defined grade criteria, students can:

  • View their certificate in PDF format.
  • Download the certificate immediately.

Instructors have access to several features:

  1. A course selector for easy navigation.
  2. Access to the configuration menu.
  3. Additional actions like updating user lists, bulk operations, and manual certificate issuance.
  4. View and search through generated certificates.
  5. See certificate details including username, generation date, and authenticity hash.
  6. A menu for certificate management (regenerate, download, delete).
